Fine Line

Posted by loubird on July 27, 2007

Because dreams have visited me,
and I, omnivorous,
have eaten from all the dishes,
and I, hungry,
wanted to eat into oblivion until
none was left
I want the candyman to give me this for free
and so
I’ll splatter red paint on the wall
maybe on our bodies too,
and we’ll make a dream painting.
The maid might think somebody
died in the bed
but, no,
it was just me,
stabbing you, in your sleep.
I want to know all the smells
in every acre of your body

Rivers and Tides

Posted by loubird on July 25, 2007

Here’s a little reminder lest we all forget the wonders of Andy Goldsworthy, Scottish environmental artist. For any of you who haven’t yet seen the highly acclaimed documentary about his work, “Rivers and Tides,” you better go watch it right now and make a little bit of your own environmental art in your backyard.

Here is a pic of random art out and about in the Berkeley hills…

Very simple, yet obviously someone was having fun. Here is some random art on Ocean Beach in San Francisco.

and a maze made by an unknown/s at the point beyond the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.

Hope this gives y’all a little inspiration to create some enjoyable artwork out and about.

Obsequious

Posted by loubird on July 23, 2007

Years shaved away, waiting for others.
Spending life’s sweat like
a flurried full moon,
asking for meaningful answers
from stones that speak only
in self-silence.
That answer is only words,
meaning is for historied fables
and wooded prayers.
It is something to bow your head to…
But words look up with
baleful, fishy eyes
asking for favors and saviors
with which to fulfill a meaning,
be careful of light-hearted decisions
that mutate into heavy burdens.

Gogol Bordello

Posted by loubird on July 19, 2007

Here is a chance to see the wild energy that is Gogol Bordello without the trappings of a Madonna trying to skip around stage and look cute and “gypsy cool” at the same time.

Gogol and Madonna

Posted by loubird on July 19, 2007

Ok, kudos to Madonna for doing something different. I know we can always count on the “Queen of Pop” to be willing to do anything to stay hip and marketable. But as a Gogol Bordello fan, after watching this I have to say, Madonna–nice try, but stick with the pop and leave the creativity to Gogol Bordello because they’re obviously much better at it.

Objects

Posted by loubird on July 18, 2007

sometimes I wish my tits
would shrivel up
like sea knots
after years of salt and wind
maybe if my bellybutton
were a drain
in which all my excess
would be sucked out
into oblivion
every so often it’s
hard to recognize humanity
because life feels like a barbecue
spit over which my
thighs boil and drip
I think my tri-tip
would end up on a hamburger bun
in Wendy’s.

mmmm, i love to eat. That doesn’t mean I’m overweight, or unhealthy.

img_0979.jpg

I relish every bite and my state of mind is much better for it. In fact, the use of silver ware and napkins is highly overrated.

Ahhh, don’t I feel much better with a little Mexican food in my belly (well, we’ll see about that when it comes out later).

Fishbone girl

This is a small picture drawn by an amazing, unknown artist from the San Francisco bay area named John Damn it. I’m actually unsure of the real title.
